Checking Accounts
We offer a deposit product to meet your needs.
Select a Checking Account (from the list below) to fit your financial situation. Complete the New Customer Information Form here. You may also apply for a debit card which will be directly linked to your checking account. Apply here. Additionally, we will need the following documents:
- Copy of your Driver’s License
- Copy of your Social Security Card*
- Copy of a bill that you have received by mail. (This is to prove your mailing address.)
*If you do not have your Social Security Card, we can complete a W-9 for you to sign.
We recommend that you either fax these documents along with the completed New Customer Information Form to 785-742-2391, place the documents in our night drop box, or bring the documents to our drive-up at our Garden Bank location.
Do not email these documents to us unless you have access to an email system that can encrypt the documents.

Electronic Checking
This account is designed for people who wish to use modern technology for maximum convenience while also keeping costs to a minimum.
- FREE online and telephone banking
- FREE internet Bill Payment
- FREE ATM or check card (for those who qualify)
- Must receive bank statement electronically via email
- Must have one direct deposit a month or $5.00/monthly fee
Regular Checking
This account is designed for people who write a relatively large number of checks, and wish to have their check images returned to them.
- Unlimited check writing
- FREE ATM or check card (for those who qualify)
- FREE online and telephone banking
- 90 days FREE bill payment, after 90 days $4.95 a month
- $2.00/month maintenance fee and $.15/withdrawal item
NOW Account
This account is for the person who wishes to earn interest on their collected balance and maintains at least $750 in the account at all times.
- Earns a competitive rate of interest
- Unlimited check writing
- FREE ATM or check card (for those who qualify)
- FREE online and telephone banking
- 90 days FREE bill payment, can qualify for FREE bill payment, but must receive statement electronically, otherwise after 90 days bill payment is $4.95 a month
- No maintenance fees as long as a minimum of $750 balance is maintained. If the balance drops below $750 there is a $10 charge; however, the account still earns interest.
